If you have been blogging for the past few years then I am sure that you understand what I am trying to explain here. It is very difficult to stay focused on your blog. A blog requires you to spend a lot of time and energy on it. It is much like bringing up a baby where you have to nurture it until it becomes successful and can stand on its own feet. This is definitely an achievable goal, but you have to remain focused on your blog until you do. Many bloggers start blogging with a lot of enthusiasm but they get distracted when they find the amount of work that goes into it. Perseverance is something that you require along with passion to become a successful blogger.

This post will tell you some ways to stay focus about your blog:
Set Short-term and Long-term goals
This is the number one point that you need to consider. If you set short-term goals then you are basically cutting your main target into smaller achievable pieces. On the other hand, if at the beginning only you aim for a daily traffic of thousands it is impossible. It is advisable that you set targets like touching a traffic of 200 unique visitors per month until you can boost it to 1000. Of course you must have a long term target which you know, can only be achieved with work on your blog overtime – that may include a high page rank or lots of email subscribers.
Keep Track, But Don’t Compare With Other Blogs
You must understand that many bloggers lose focus simply because they get discouraged when they see other blogs doing so well overtime. When someone gets discouraged then it becomes very difficult for them to keep going since they feel that they cannot be successful in blogging. There is no need to be discouraged, the important thing is that you beat your own self with time. You must improve your blogging in your own eye. Ask yourself- are you a better blogger than when you started off? Of course, so definitely you will become even better in future. However, it is also important to keep track of others growth to maintain your competitive edge and remain updated.
Understand How Productive You Are
Many bloggers get frustrated because they spend so much time online and yet they have no results. The amount of time you spend in front of the computer does not decide your success. It does not matter whether you blog for one-hour a day or twelve-hours in a day. What does matter is that how productive are you in that one hour. This is why it is important to know your best time to blog and an idea of how much you can do in that time frame.
Keep Growing in Knowledge
There is nothing like stagnant knowledge to get stale in your blog. If you want to keep your blogĀ fresh, then new knowledge will keep you inspired. The day you quit learning more, that day your blog will also stop growing. We all know that knowledge is power and the same applies in the blogosphere as well.
