How To Promote Your Blog?
Think! You create a blog with very resourceful articles but no visitor are there. That most awful treat for you. There are some dialog buzzing sometime that if you have good content, visitor will come automatically. This is totally foolish thought in my mind for beginner. There are thousand of site around the net with similar content, why someone come to you? How someone going to notice you. So you must make people know you. Then if you have good content, they will stick with you. Here is some steps which I follow when I start my blog.
1. Search Engine Submission: After writing 10-15 content I submit my on non-reappraisal search engine, using both manual and automated process. Remember manual submission is best because automated engine has no intelligence which category best sweet for your blog. For automatic submission you can go with Submit Express. Notice in which site they are submitting your site, now make a note on it and then submit your blog manually there whenever you have enough time in proper category.
2. RSS Submission:- RSS submission is another good way to promote your content through RSS feed. Go with automated submission mechanism, you don’t need to care much about manual submission in this time.
3. Submitting your article to free article-directory is another good way to promote your site. Put your articles there with your site backlink. You must put some good line like if you want to read more such article then please visit [your site link].
4. Submit your site to blog directory. Put there ranking code in your site footer. Usually webmaster use this directory to find similar site. So this way you can take your blog in front of other webmaster.
5. There are some forum who allow you to put your site information in post and then ask people to review it. This is a nice way to promote your site. This not only help your PR but also help you to get some good traffic.
6. Find similar blog using blog directory. Read there articles and review it with comment. Don’t forget to put your site link in the comment form.
7. Link exchange is another good way to promote your blog. Ask other webmaster who have similar interest like you for a link exchange. That will help your page rank as well as help others to know your blog.
8. Using signature is a good way to promote your site. You can use your site link in signature on your email or in forum. This definitely boost your site promotion and help you to get good traffic.
9. If you have a visiting card or writing pad for some purpose then use your site link on it. This is a good way to get human visitor.
10. Promote your articles using social bookmarking site like Digg, Stumbleupon, FreindFeed etc. Choose any two site to spend sometime to get good traffic by making friends. I took Digg and Stumbleupon for this purpose. You can use sharethis plugin in your blog to make your submission easier. Submit your articles as much site as possible. That way you get good traffic and backlink from good sites. Don’t forget to use country wise social bookmarking sites like in India there is IndianPad, IndiaByte, PagalPandit etc.
11. Show your articles in social site like Orkut, Facebook, Myspace, Twitter etc. You can use sharethis plugin for this purpose too.
12. Use text massages group for promoting your site using text massage service. If you are an Indian then you can use SMSGupSup. Try to find similar services in your country and use those.
13. Give away free things to your visitor is another good way to promote your site. You can give way free books, templates, screensaver etc. You can organise contest to make visitor keep coming. Tell about this contest in similar blogger website. Write your own books, allow it to distribute freely to others without editing, put your site link there.
There are many more cost effective way to promote your site like newspaper advertising, adward advertising, TV ads etc. You can use it if you don’t worry about your pocket.
