Google Viewer just added 12 more formats to exclude the need of offline viewer for different formats of files. This is very helpful for average users as well as experts. They now can view more files that come their ways via Gmail before download. In another way, it’s much more secure to view files online than downloading it locally, specially when you have huge storage space with Gmail.

Here is the list of formats that introduced recently on Google Docs Viewer:
- Microsoft Excel (.XLS and .XLSX)
- Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 / 2010 (.PPTX)
- Apple Pages (.PAGES)
- Adobe Illustrator (.AI)
- Adobe Photoshop (.PSD)
- Autodesk AutoCad (.DXF)
- Scalable Vector Graphics (.SVG)
- PostScript (.EPS, .PS)
- TrueType (.TTF)
- XML Paper Specification (.XPS)
For me, addition of Apple Pages (.PAGES) is a gold mine, now I don’t need to switch to Mac OS system to view Apple Pages or find an alternative offline viewer for it.
