Bookmarks stored quick links of our favorite website that make easy to get back on that website quickly. While surfing through Internet we find some interesting and useful website that we want to remember for future reference and we Bookmarks those site in our browser.
There can be many reason to Impost or Export your bookmark; some possible reason can be:
Reason 1: Want to backup your bookmark, so that can restore it after reinstalling OS or browser.
Reason 2: Want to copy your bookmark from your desktop to notebook or vice versa.
Reason 3: Want to copy bookmark from one browser to another
Whatever is you reason but the solution is same – Export/Import bookmark.
Here we will discuss how to Backup or Import/Export Bookmarks in Internet Explorer9, Firefox4 and Google Chrome browsers.
Import/Export Bookmark in IE9: Bookmarks are called Favorites in Internet Explorer. You can Export Bookmarks as html format from IE and Import can be done in IE or other browser also. You can directly Import the Bookmarks of Firefox and Safari in IE.
To Backup or Export Bookmark-
1. Go to File menu, click on Import and Export.
2. Select Export to a file and click next
3. Check Favorite option to Export Bookmarks only and click next
4. Select the folder of your stored bookmarks and click next
5.Specify a location and name to store bookmark from Brows and click Export, then click finish.
To Import Bookmark-
1. Select Import from a file option from Import and Export window
2. Select Favorite and select the bookmarks file from brows option and Import.
Note: Select the option Import from other browser to Import bookmarks directly from Firefox and Safari.
Import/Export Bookmark in Firefox4: You can take Backup your Firefox bookmarks in Firefox format to Import only in Firefox or Export as html format to use in any browser.
To Backup or Export Bookmark:
1. Go to Bookmarks menu, Select Show all Bookmarks
2. Under Import and Backup select Backup to save as Firefox format and select Export HTML to save as html format.
3. Select location and give a file name and save.
To Import or Restore Bookmark: From the Import and Backup option, select Restore and choose file (to import Firefox formatted file only). Or select Import HTML to Import from any saved html file.
Import/Export Bookmark in Google Chrome: Google Chrome use the Chrome HTML format to Export bookmark, that can be Imported into other browser.
To Export Bookmark: Click on the Wrench icon from top right corner of Chrome window, and select Bookmark Manager.
Under Organize click Export Bookmarks, specify location and file name and save.
To Import Bookmark: Under the Organize option select Import Bookmarks and select file and open.
