Bing is better as an image search engine?
Bing, the new child of Microsoft, is now most buzzed webware. There is a rumor that Google Wave will bite the hit of Bing but it is not. It’s really ready to give a tough competition to Yahoo to grab overall search share while both competing with Google. Its look like Microsoft doing well to establish their presence in Web.
However, despite new interface Microsoft need to crawl more pages if they really going to compete with Google. People always love to see more relative any dynamic search content. However most of the time we don’t need to go 5th result page on Google but it’s true incident that the more you crawl web page the more quality and related page will be shown on result page. That’s why I still feel Google better.
The thing attracts me more is the image search. The lightbox type presentation is really cool. Its look like Microsoft trying to make there image search like Cooliris. The good thing about Bing image result page is you don’t need to click next page to see another set of image, just scroll down and it will show next set of image. That’s really time saving. You also can use safe search feature like Google here. It also shows related search term in sidebar which save your time. All this extra ordinary and user friendly feature on image search make it better image search engine than Google.
However the bad thing is when you click ‘show full size image’, instead of breaking the frame and show only the picture on the same page, it take you another page which is bad to me. Its look like Bing team forget to remove target=”_blank” line from the url.

Wow this is incredible. I don’t know why Google is doing nothing about their image search business. They could have made it so much better.

Microsoft Bing would be the closet competitor of Google. but i still use Google because it shows more relevant results on the serp.
Bing search engine gives almost the same search results as Google. Looks like Google will now have a tough competition when it comes to search engine technology.
