Due to our ignorance, classic movies are just a dark corner product of retail stores. Even very few retail stores have a collection of old movies. Recently my younger brother ask me for a Charlie Chaplin movie. I am a blind fan of Charlie Chaplin from my childhood. Comedy movies always attract me lot. Anyway on the hunt of download Charlie Chaplin movie legally, I found some treasure of Classic old movies.

1. Moving Image Archive – Perhaps have the biggest collection(215867 items) of classic movies. Before today I only knew Archive.Org as a wayback machine on internet. Thanks to Google who broke this false thought. Its not only collector of html page, it’s also a collector of old movies which they called moving image. You can watch as well as download movies.

2. Retrovision Internet TV – Another good place to watch classic movies. It don’t allow you to download those movies but you can download it using Video Download Helper in Firefox or using VideoCacheView. Movie Tags located on right sidebar allow you to browse the site fast.

3. Classic Cinema Online – I love this site due to its cool interface. It represents the classic movies in modern way, that’s really attractive. Another good thing to me is huge category distribution. Its really helpful when you trying to find a particular movie. Another cool thing is, its popular section where you can see some of the best movies easily, specially in silent section.

4. Free Movies Entertainment Magazine – Very simple interface, just like an old magazine. It don’t have bigger collection but yet worthy. Some blockbuster classic movie are available to download here along with streaming online viewing. The collection starts from 1900s are actually edited version of Moving Image Archive.

5. Archive Classic Movies – Relatively new and lower collection of movies. This is another site depended on Moving Image Archive. The list is quite good.

6. Watch Kung Fu – As the name suggest, this site best suit to martial art lover. Have a huge collection of classic movie on Kung Fu. Most of the movie come with it’s original language and with English subtitle.
