Spam is the simplest way to advertise anything and cyber criminal as well as less known pharmaceutical company use this method to hook unaware average people. People lost huge money due to that. Usually we get spam massage on lottery winning or on huge money transfer and countless victims lose high amount of money in this way. However in festive season spammer always try unusual thing or less known method or old method to target victim to get maximum benefit. This time, they take back old MP3 spam method.
This malicious spamming technique last seen two years ago. Usually this type of spam email comes with a .mp3 attachment and don’t have any subject line or body content.
According to TrendLabs – The email messages only contained an .MP3 file that when executed, a voice advertising Viagra and other sexual enhancement pills is heard. The said “voice” also entices users to visit a certain URL, which points to the all-too-familiar Canadian pharmacy sites.
So, you should be aware before opening any email contain .mp3 file as attachment and don’t have any subject line and body content.
