One of the things I love about my Kindle is that I can take it with me anywhere, to the doctor’s office while I’m waiting, out to the deck to read for a while, out by the pool while on a cruise, or just curled up on the couch, it doesn’t matter. The same goes for many of the other eBook readers.
If you use an ebook reading application on a notebook, then you’ll have to take that notebook (or netbook) with you. You’re now limited by the size, weight and battery life of the notebook. My Kindle will fit in my purse and will allow me to read for over 9 hours straight. Sorry, but I’ll trade a few cool visualizations for the convenience and availability. I love the interactive pages and magazine feel, but I just can’t get away from being able to get up and go.
