Are you an online social addict? Are you sleep on Facebook? Are you a lover of eye catchy holiday theme? Then you must be aware of Koobface latest malicious activity.

KOOBFACE has pushed a new campaign with the help of the new component which executes human-like behavior such as joining Facebook groups and posting messages on Facebook friends’ walls. This new campaign, on the other hand, boosts a timely theme according to Trend Micro.

The bait is basically the same for this run: posts supposedly published by another user are suggested to be a link to a video. Clicking the link leads to the fake YouTube page typical of KOOBFACE attacks, only this time the page is presented as a Christmas-themed video.

Usually we saw cyber criminal look proactive during festive season and this Christmas is no difference to them.

If you don’t know about Koobface, it is listed as the “winner” for the “Most Notable Criminal Innovation” category on Cisco 2009 Annual Report.
