Do you ever have interested to build your own genealogical data so that your next generation will stop to think much when his friend ask similar question.
Well don’t think I am going to reveal a tool which going to help your next generation to answer this short of question fast. I don’t have any information on those magic tool, what I am going to tell you, there is a tool which help you to make a treasure of your genealogical data where your future generation can find their family data just like RootWeb.
However, this tool need little bit of work from your part initially when you going to install it. First you need to install Java 1.6 SDK and PostgreSQL server. Both these tools are free and easy to install. You’ll find java on http://java.sun.com and PostgreSQL on http://www.postgresql.org.
After completing the initial task download FinFamily from here and then read this installation guide to make it work.
After completing the installation you then able to create a person and then build his data just like the following screenshot:

You need to invest little bit time to know how all menus work. After completing some initial data you can view your family tree which will look like the following:

If you don’t want to do that much work then RootWeb will be a best site to store your data. However, it is good to have your private family data in your own control.
So, do you have your genealogical data? What tool you prefer to use when building the genealogical data?
