What to do now?

If you or any of your family member is the victim of those Chinese mobile then you have two options, either get a new mobile phone with a valid cell IMEI number or visit the outlets set up by the Cellular Operators Association of India to get the number implanted through a software.

The death of this mobile phones not only effect general unaware people but also effect cellular service provider. Losing 25 million at once always a big deal but I hope they are well prepared as they get 1 year to provide right IMEI to their subscriber.
