The growing security issues force me to write an article on blocking site on my favorite browser. We everyday face some new annoying site issue. It is good to ban them and help you and your computer user. There may be many ways to ban a site on browser but I find this one very easiest.

BlockSite addon is very useful in my view. All you need to install it and do a certain thing to block those annoying sites. You can use wildcard as well as single page blocking. If you have a list of site then just add those file in a text file with ‘[BlockSite]‘ on the first line.

You can make it a parental control system by making it password protected. Hope your kids are not smart enough to broke it as there is a way to brake it in case you forget the password.

The only issue is if you planning to put a big list like 100-200 then you might face slow ness as it have to check each link before opening secure link. However, if you thinking on security then that should be ok.
