Idea To Block Any Website Using Firefox
Recently I got some addiction on Facebook which prevent me to do my usual blogging. That really something I wish I never do but the ultimate result is I do it regularly and that’s why I yet not able to post a single article today. So, I decide to write on a way by which I and we can prevent our addiction on a particular site.
Blocking access to a particular site specially helpful for parents and more than helpful web addicted like me. There are lot of social site where your child may spend lot of their useful time, I better say they waste lots of their priceless time and if you worry about it then LeechBlock addon for Firefox is more than an useful addon. I just advice you grab it now.
Here is a small description provided by developer:
LeechBlock is a simple productivity tool designed to block those time-wasting sites that can suck the life out of your working day. (You know: the ones that rhyme with ‘Blue Cube’, ‘Pie Face’, ‘Space Hook’, ‘Hash Pot’, ‘Sticky Media’, and the like.) All you need to do specify which sites to block and when to block them.
You can specify up to six sets of sites to block, with different times and days for each set. You can block sites within fixed time periods (e.g., between 9am and 5pm), after a time limit (e.g., 10 minutes in every hour), or with a combination of time periods and time limit (e.g., 10 minutes in every hour between 9am and 5pm). You can also set a password for access to the extension options, just to slow you down in moments of weakness!
The best part of this utility is, it allow you to set a particular site which you want to see when the given site is blocked. I set my own blog URL and I think if you are a blogger you should do it to. It will remind you what you should do on that time. It’s really a very simple utility that complete your all need when you think about blogging.

Nice addon but it only work on Firefox while you can’t block it on other browsers. Another complete solution for this is to use hostfiles. It’s a file to map domain name to IP address and Windows loads it automatically when on start up.
