Hello Again Arafat…
A few days ago, I write a post on My blog about this software and pong back to this post, as you can see..
Well, one of My readers ask me about the possibility of change the default process viewer from windows ( taskmgr.exe ) setting it to Process Revealer.
So, I write to Logixoft talking about this and they replay my question and show me how to do this.
Then I thought that you or any of your readers might be interested in this procedure and decided to show it here for you.
Here is what they replay to me .:
”
Dear Sir,
Thank you for contacting me.
I think this can be done using the registry:
- Open the registry (Start >> Run >> regedit)
- Browse to the following location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\taskmgr.exe
Create the key taskmgr.exe if it does not exist.
- Right click at the right pane and select New > String Value. Name the string value that you created as Debugger. Double click at Debugger and enter the path to Process Revealer (ex: “C:\Program Files\Process Revealer Free Edition\prfree.exe”), you will find a screenshot in attachment.
If you want to use the default Task Manager again, just delete the key taskmgr.exe in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\taskmgr.exe
We will add an option to replace the default Task Manager in the next update.
Best regards,
Alan.
