Set of free Microsoft Office powerful offline alternatives
It’s no doubt Microsoft Office is most known name in the industry for offline document work. There may be two reasons of it:
1. Microsoft Window is most use OS in the world. I know Mac user growing but they still in the hand of rich people due to it’s cost where Windows is much popular on average people.
2. As most average people use it and usually home user never buy it, they hire CD/DVD from his friends who might buy it in low cost from black market, so they never think about an alternative.
Anyway, as awareness growing and more and more people involving internet everyday, we can hope a somewhat pirate free world soon. We must realize we never going to get a total pirate free world as we can’t sweep out corruption from our world. Now discuss about those 3 free offline alternative of MS Office.
1. OpenOffice – Probably the best alternative of MS Office and each time I use it, I am just get confused how this is free! There is no real reason to buy a Office Suite after using it. It have plug which let you do what you want and probably it have more feature than Office with more user friendly way. At least you don’t need to click ever where to find the option you want. The great think about it, is cross-platform show you can use it in major OS without any worry.
2. Lotus Symphony – Another great effective alternative of Microsoft Office suite and amazingly free. It’s not feature rich as like as Open Office but very effective. Also featured with plugins, so you can do custom things. Great product for IBM lover. Another cross-platform project.
3. AbiWord – It’s another free tool and it is free alternative of Microsoft Office Word, not for whole Office suite. It’s too a cross-platform project.
If you still searching a paid alternative then you can try StarOffice or ThinkFree, for online solution I recommend Google Doc always; you can also choose Zoho for your online solution.
