Switching off monitor using mouse always look lazy idea as monitor never far away from us but I think it’s a productive idea specially when you use wireless mouse and keyboard. It saves your time and electricity. So, it’s not a lazy idea but a productive idea.

Monoff let you power off your monitor by a single click. The zip file comes with 2 version, one is installer and another is standalone. Choice is yours. If you want to change the setting then press ’spacebar’ when the monoff screen come in front of you. Just make a shortcut of your chosed program(standalone is better as it won’t use registry) on desktop and now you are 1 click away from switching off your monitor.

Very cool. Turning off a monitor has huge energy savings. I forget the exact amount but the monitor accounts for something like 80% of overall PC power consumption.

i just use the save-energy function, after 5 minutes laptop inactive it will automatically sleep
