Track down email senders on Gmail, Yahoo Mail and Hotmail
Wanna track down those spammer or any email sender? This easy trick might help you. I just trying to cover some major email client as I believe 95% email user in internet use this. Anyway I only help you to know the ip and then doing a reverse ip look up you can know more about that ip. However, I should make clear, this trick never help you to know the person real name and contact information unless the ip reveal it itself.
1. Gmail: Perhaps the best and most use free email service. If you closely see the regular email on there you can see ’show details’ option, this option only reveal some basic information, never the information you needed to track. Now see the drop down menu beside reply on header. Click on it and choose ’show original’. Now you will get much more information about sender, try to find out the ip located on header portion and do a reverse ip check to get more information about that ip.

2. Yahoo Mail: Another well known email service. Here the tracking method is almost similar only difference is that the option is located on email footer. Look the footer and find ‘Full Headers’, now check out the ip and trace it using reverse look up.

3. Hotmail: Not much popular but we have to use it to download or use Microsoft services. The truth is that I unable to find an option using which I can trace the email sender. Hope Microsoft soon introduce this service on their email services.
When you tack an ip you will get information like this:

Please note if anyone forwarded that email then you can’t track it using this method. If you get and mysterious email then check that email on Google, usually you will find your answer. Also if you think it is a spam in the name of company or something then forward it to spam@uce.gov as directed at http://www.ftc.gov/spam/
